Call For Artists! (no name) Rocks
The Project
Part 1:
We’ll mail you a smooth white river stone (approximate 3-5 in). You design/decorate it anyway you like! Afterward snap a picture, and then put your “gift” out in the world. We suggest somewhere in a public place – a park, subway, outside a supermarket, a parking meter, etc. The idea is that someone you don’t know finds it. Snap one more picture of your stone “in location”.
Part 2:
On the bottom of each stone there will be our website. If someone finds your stone, they’ll be able to track where this little “gift” came from! The website will host all stone photos/locations and the artist name (unless you prefer to be anonymous, even more power to you!). There will also be a contact form on our website if a “finder” wants to be known as well.
Cost: FREE!
However we will accept donations! Suggested donation is $10 for an “egg rock” stone with shipping. (using your own stone is also acceptable!)
Artwork Needed (digital photos only)
- 1 photo of your stone (straightforward, against white background)
- 1 photo of your stone (in the setting)
Dates
- Oct 10th – Call for artists deadline
- Oct 15th – Stones mailed
- Nov 15th – Photos due
- Nov 25th – Exhibition goes LIVE!
